Empowering Youth for Sustainable Development

About the camp

The International Youth Camp 2026 brings together young people and Red Cross volunteers from Nigeria and beyond for eight days of leadership, humanitarian learning and friendship at Igando IDP Camp, Lagos State.

Under the theme “Empowering Youth for Sustainable Development”, participants will engage in leadership development sessions, humanitarian learning activities, innovation exhibitions, community service initiatives, sporting activities, cultural displays, networking opportunities and interactive workshops.

The camp is organized by the Nigerian Red Cross Society and is open to young people between 18 and 30 years of age.

Four thematic areas

  1. Youth as Leaders

    Building the confidence and skills to lead humanitarian action in their communities.

  2. Youth as Innovators

    Showcasing ideas and solutions at innovation exhibitions throughout the camp.

  3. Youth as Volunteers

    Serving through hands-on community service initiatives and outreach.

  4. Youth as Beneficiaries & Change Agents

    Growing through the programme and carrying change back home.
